Glossdex: Semantic search tool that indexes local photos and documents and shows only evidence-supported results.
glossdex is private semantic search over a folder of photos and documents. A local model writes a short gloss for every file as a list of independent phrases saying what is in it. The software embeds the gloss and its phrases, and at query time it decides how many results the evidence supports, often returning nothing when the collection lacks a match. It uses Python 3.9+ and Ollama, supporting folders containing images, text files, markdown files, and PDFs. It features adapter interfaces for content sources, describers like OllamaDescriber and TextOnlyDescriber, and embedders like OllamaEmbedder and SentenceTransformersEmbedder. The index lives locally in a hidden folder inside the indexed directory.
