whereismyai
Privacy policy
What information whereismyai and its partners, including Google, collect when you use the site, how cookies are used for ads, and the choices you have.
Last updated 11 October 2026
This policy explains what information is collected when you visit whereismyai.space (“whereismyai”, “we”), why, who receives it, and the choices you have. You can use the directory and the AI search without an account and without telling us who you are. The advisor is a paid subscription, which knows you only by the email address you pay with; there is no account or password.
What we collect
- Requests to the site. Like any website, our host Cloudflare receives your IP address, your browser’s details and the address of each page you open, to deliver it and to protect the site from abuse.
- Visit statistics. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits and the pages people use. It does not use cookies and does not follow you across other websites.
- Searches. When you use the AI search, what you type, with the category and role you picked, is sent to the AI models that choose the results (see below). The question and its answer are kept for up to 7 days so that the same question is answered quickly next time; they are not stored with your IP address. Your IP address is held for one minute only, to limit how many searches one address can make.
- The advisor. What you write to the advisor, and its answers, are kept with the conversation for 30 days so that it can carry on where it left off, on any device you sign in on; you can delete a conversation at any time from the chat list. We also keep a running total of how much of the monthly allowance each subscription has used, without the conversations. A conversation is tied to your subscription, not to your IP address. Your IP address is held for one minute to limit how many messages one address can send.
- The advisor’s buttons. We count how many times each button that opens the advisor is used each day: which button, not who pressed it.
- Advisor cookies. Confirming your email sets a cookie (wim_email) holding that address, signed so it cannot be forged, so this browser stays signed in. Starting a checkout sets a cookie (wim_v) holding a random id, so the subscription you buy can be matched to this browser. Once you are subscribed, a third cookie (wim_pro) holds your subscription’s id, also signed. They are kept for a year, contain nothing else about you, and signing out removes all three.
- When you subscribe to the advisor. Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record, collects your name, email address, billing address and payment details on its own checkout page under its privacy policy. We receive your email address, your subscription’s id and status and the dates it renews; we never see your card details.
- When you confirm your email. You give us an email address and we send a 6-digit code to it through Cloudflare Email Service, our email provider. We keep only a scrambled (hashed) copy of the code, for 10 minutes, and check whether the address has a subscription to the advisor (with Dodo Payments too, if a renewal hasn’t reached us yet). The address is kept in your browser, and with your subscription once you buy; it is filled in and locked on Dodo Payments’ checkout.
- Your settings. Your choice of light or dark theme, and the id of your current advisor conversation, are kept in your browser’s local storage, on your device only.
- Email. If you write to us, we keep your message and your address to reply to you.
We use this to run, secure and improve the site, on the basis of our legitimate interest in doing so. Cookies for personalised ads are used only on the basis of your consent where the law requires it (see below).
Advertising and cookies
whereismyai shows ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners act as third-party vendors: they place and read cookies in your browser, or use web beacons, IP addresses and similar identifiers, to serve ads on this site, to measure them and to prevent fraud.
Other ad networks working with Google may also serve and measure ads here. Google keeps the list of these ad technology partners, with links to their own policies, where you can learn about their use of data and how to opt out.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, cookies are used for personalised ads only if you agree to it in the consent message shown on the site, and you can change your choice at any time from the privacy settings link it adds to the page. If you opt out, you still see ads, but they are less related to your interests.
Other services that receive your IP address
Parts of a page are loaded from other companies’ servers, which receive your IP address and browser details when your browser asks for them:
- Google Fonts, for the site’s typeface.
- Product logos, loaded from each product’s own website or from public icon services such as Google’s favicon service, DuckDuckGo, GitHub and the app stores.
When you open a product’s site from here, you leave whereismyai and that site’s own privacy policy applies. An affiliate link takes you through the affiliate partner first, which may set its own cookie to record that you came from here.
AI services
The AI search sends your question to models run on Cloudflare Workers AI and, when those are busy, to Google’s Gemini API, which use it to answer the search. The advisor chat sends your conversation to a model run on Cloudflare Workers AI, which answers from the directory’s own product data. Please don’t type personal or sensitive information into the search box or the chat. Product listings are written from products’ public websites with the same kinds of models; no information about visitors is used for that.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t give it to anyone apart from the services named in this policy, which use it to run the site, answer searches and the advisor, take payments and show ads, or when the law requires us to. Under some US state laws, Google’s use of advertising cookies may count as “sharing” for targeted advertising; you can opt out of it with the controls above.
How long it is kept
- Searches and their answers: up to 7 days.
- Advisor conversations: 30 days after the last message.
- Sign-in codes: 10 minutes, as a hashed copy, and deleted within a day.
- Your IP address for the search, chat and sign-in limits: one minute.
- Subscription records (email, subscription id and status): while you subscribe and for as long as tax and accounting law requires afterwards; Dodo Payments keeps its own payment records under its policy.
- Request logs and visit statistics: for a limited time, by Cloudflare, under its own policy.
- Email: as long as it takes to deal with your message.
- Advertising cookies: as long as Google and its partners set them for; you can delete them in your browser at any time.
Your choices and rights
You can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings, and opt out of personalised ads with the controls above.
Depending on where you live, including the European Union, the United Kingdom, California and other US states, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its use or withdraw your consent. We hold very little that identifies you, so most of this is covered by the controls above; for anything else, email hello@whereismyai.space with “Privacy” in the subject. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
whereismyai is not meant for children under 13, or under the minimum age in your country, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
