Telex was Automattic's AI theme and block builder for WordPress; the product has been retired.

Telex was an Automattic experiment for building WordPress themes and blocks with AI, running on WordPress Playground. The current site states that Telex has been retired and thanks people who built themes and blocks with it. Existing accounts can still retrieve projects they already made. Automattic now points whole-site generation at the WordPress.com AI Website Builder, and other coding work at WordPress Studio, Claude Code, Codex or Grok. A changelog, terms and privacy policy are still linked. The catalog should treat this as a shut-down product, not an active tool.
