OpenObserve
OpenObserve is an open-source observability platform for logs, metrics, traces and LLM monitoring, built in Rust for low storage costs.
OpenObserve collects and correlates logs, metrics and traces from every layer of an application, from the frontend and APIs to databases, infrastructure, and AI models and agents. It is written in Rust on the DataFusion engine and stores data in columnar Parquet files without separate indexes, which the company says cuts storage to 1/140th and compute to 1/30th of a named alternative. Teams search petabytes of logs with SQL, store Prometheus-compatible metrics, follow distributed traces, build drag-and-drop dashboards or import Grafana boards, and route alerts to Slack, PagerDuty or email. It also offers LLM observability, real user monitoring, session replay, synthetic monitoring, SLOs and an AI SRE agent that triages incidents. OpenObserve is open source with more than 21,000 GitHub stars, and can be self-hosted or used as a cloud service priced per gigabyte.
