Negative Space is a 3D map of 6,304 YC startups that searches its empty space for companies that do not exist yet. An embedding model reads each company description and turns it into numerical coordinates, forming unsupervised neighborhoods. Users can stack dots into bars, compare rival scores, mix related companies, and move away from existing points to generate new locations. Claude generates descriptions for what could live in those gaps, and the system runs distance checks to ensure novelty. The code, methodology, Claude skill, and embeddings are available on GitHub. It runs with uv, Claude Code, and an Anthropic API key.
