49agents
49agents is an open-source 2D IDE that puts every AI coding agent, terminal, repo and machine on one infinite canvas instead of terminal tabs.
49agents replaces stacks of terminal tabs with one infinite, zoomable canvas where every AI coding agent, terminal, repository and machine sits side by side. Panes glow blue while an agent such as Claude Code is working and pulse vermillion when it needs permission, so it is clear which agent needs attention. Users connect the machines they own, from laptops and desktops to cloud boxes, and open terminals on them directly from the canvas, with a live CPU and RAM display for each. It self-hosts in minutes with Node, tmux and ttyd and needs no account, or can be used through a hosted app. The source is available under the Business Source License 1.1, free for individuals and small teams, with paid plans for companies that add shared canvases and support.
