EasyRead is a local open source research paper reader designed to make reading academic papers comfortable. It imports PDFs, arXiv numbers, DOIs, or OpenReview links, and translates them page by page in the background using your own models like Claude Code, Codex, DeepSeek, Zhipu, or local Ollama. The interface formats text in Song typeface, renders math formulas with KaTeX, formats tables as three-line tables, and keeps original references. Users can switch to a side-by-side comparison view with original pages, highlight text in four colors, take notes, and ask AI questions grounded in specific paragraphs or highlighted sections. All annotations are compiled in order and can be exported as Markdown into Obsidian or Notion. The software runs locally and supports organizing a library with custom categories, tags, and reference exports in GB/T 7714, APA, and BibTeX formats.
